In 1954, my parents, "Ted"
and Ruth O'Shea, set out on an adventure. They took what little money they had and started this store in a one-room
building, in what seemed to be the middle of nowhere, selling high-quality furniture in Sutton, MA. Over the years,
happy customers spread the word about Ted's service and high-quality selection of made in America furniture.
Little by little, the O'Sheas not only added to their building, but to their family. Sons Danny, Jerry, and Sean came
along each with a hand in the business during school years, but it was the middle child who truly felt
at home here. That was me, and it's all I've ever known and done.
My father, Ted, passed away in 2005 just a week before his 85th birthday and I'm blessed to have had him want
to work here well into his 80's, selling our heirloom quality furniture. Even today, customers will stop
by and have some anecdotal story about Dad. His philosophy was simple; "Keep it small, keep it personal,
and treat people the way they should be treated." Many "big box" stores have come and
gone in my years in this business, but I'm still here, and my father's words continue to guide me today.
I have a beautiful selection of unusual, mid to high-quality furniture
that you won't find elsewhere. This includes
upholstered furniture, bedroom, and dining suites, and occasional
pieces -- including a new and ever-increasing selection of Amish craftsmen furniture hand-crafted
in the U.S.A., of which I know my parents would be proud.
Our country store is a bit off the beaten path. But if you
come to visit, I promise you the same personal experience that's kept us here since 1954.
I look forward to meeting you.
Warmest Regards,
--Jerry O'Shea
